2023 – We are well represented in the Bowls Durham, Bowls England and Durham County Bowling Federation individual competitions. We have also entered the Bowls England team competitions with the hope of, again, qualifying for the National finals at Skegness and Leamington Spa. Members have also nominated for the respective Durham County teams.
2022 – Maurice Dunlop qualified for the National Finals at Leamington Spa in the Over 55 Singles.
Maurice Dunlop also won the Bowls Durham Champion of Champions Competition
2021 – Maurice Dunlop qualified for the National Finals at Leamington Spa in the Over 55 Singles.
Alan Lawton and Maurice Dunlop qualified for the National Finals at Leamington Spa in the Pairs and Over 55 Pairs – This was a first in the History of the competitions
2020 – Covid prevented any real bowling to take place
2019 – Alan Lawton qualified for the National Finals at Leamington Spa in the Over 55 Singles.
2018 – We managed to complete our Singles championship this year with Alan Hughes and Christine Moeliker winning the Mens and Ladies 4 bowl singles.
Jarrow West End re-formed in 2017 as a mixed club to allow members to play in Bowls England competitions. It is an outdoor lawn bowls club that is open for play from April until the end of September.
The green is set in the delightful Jarrow West Park reached by the main entrance at the corner of Park Road and Sussex Street.
As you walk in the main gate immediately turn right and the gates to the green are about 30 yards in front of you.
