Frequently asked questions
What is the League format – The Vets league games are 3 wood triples, no trial ends, only 1 shot can be scored on the first 2 ends. EBF rules and 16 ends.
If rain stops play or game is abandoned – If 12 ends or more are played then the score stands. If less than 12 ends are played then the game is recorded as a draw and teams are awarded 5 shots and 4 points each.
How do you play 3 players against 2 players – The first player in each team will cast the jack when their team win the end then the order of play will be First, first, second. This is repeated until all first and second player bowls are delivered, then skips play as normal.
How many points and shots do teams get if a game is rained off – If games are rained off then 5 shots and 4 points are awarded to each team.
What information does the home team send after the game – Team names and Total points and shots are all that is required before 10pm on the day of the game. Example Jarrow 3 points, 53 shots v Hebburn 5 points 68 shots.
How are points allocated – Two points for highest aggregate score, one point each if team score is a draw. Two points for each winning rink and one point each if rinks are drawn.

What is the format of the Marshall League and Black Knock out – One trial end, Teams to consist of 3 Rinks of 3 players playing 2 wood rinks, EBF rules and 21 ends.
